Vebka is a soulful singer/songwriter who started singing at the age of t= wo and hasn’t stopped since. A smoky voice that pairs subtle emotion = with power her music sits somewhere on the pop side of soul, with the bass = notes from jazz and the high notes from rock. Her songs are poems about lif= e and love lost and found. Vebka lives in a remote coastal settlement near = Dunedin/ New Zealand writing music and playing her Singing Wood guitars mad= e by a luthier ‘just down her inlet’. In 2008 Vebka released he= r live album ‘Windblown’. Her latest album ‘All Things Fr= ee’ was recorded in Germany and New Zealand, released during a boat e= xpedition to the Antarctic in January 2014 and followed by the official alb= um launch on New Zealand soil in March. Vebka is also a filmmaker and thriv= es on combining her music with abstract visuals and intimate storytelling.<= /p>
