Halo Vincent,

Here are all the posts from the Developer Blog in the last week.

Clarifying Our Platform Policies, 26 Januari pukul 3:00
Published by Justin Osofsky

Over the past few days, we=E2=80=99ve received questions about a few of =
our platform policies and want to clarify our thinking.

For the vast majority of developers building social apps and games, keep =
doing what you=E2=80=99re doing. Our goal is to provide a platform that =
gives people an easy way to login to your apps, create personalized and =
social experiences, and easily share what they=E2=80=99re doing in your =
apps with people on Facebook. This is how our platform has been used by =
the most popular categories of apps, such as games, music, fitness, news =
and general lifestyle apps.

For a much smaller number of apps that are using Facebook to either =
replicate our functionality or bootstrap their growth in a way that =
creates little value for people on Facebook, such as not providing users =
an easy way to share back to Facebook, we=E2=80=99ve had policies against =
this that we are further clarifying today (see I.10).

We are committed to helping you build great apps with Facebook, and will =
continue to invest in products that help you succeed while creating a =
healthy ecosystem.

The Value of a Facebook-connected Mobile User, 25 Januari pukul 4:00
Published by Zoran Martinovic

As an increasing number of developers integrate their mobile apps with =
Facebook, we've learned more about the benefits for developers of offering =
Facebook Login as a registration option. Specifically, people who discover =
apps through Facebook and connect to apps using Facebook, tend to spend =
more time in the apps, come back more often, and are more likely to become =
paying customers. Many top game developers, for example, have also found =
that Facebook-connected users generate more referral traffic as they share =
achievements through social channels.

Results

"Facebook creates a stronger network effect and connection to the game and =
among gamers, which results in higher retention with our games. Features =
like a leaderboard and gifting keep users engaged as they progress =
through game levels together, while at the same time attracting new =
players." - Perry Tam, CEO of Storm8

=E2=80=9CDiamond Dash has shown us that being social on mobile ultimately =
results in a better experience for the player. Users who play socially =
are more engaged and are able to get the most out of the game by sharing =
their experiences with friends.=E2=80=9D - Jens Begemann, CEO of Wooga

"We can assume that lifetime value of a Facebook-connected install is at =
least double the value of guest connected players over time." - =
Fran=C3=A7ois Daoud, Vice President of Marketing, Ludia

"Besides seeing greater results from the players who connect to our games =
with Facebook, these people also play and pay more, which are essential =
parts of every game's success." - Anton Krasnyy, Founder of Murka

Best Practices

After you've integrated your mobile app with Facebook, it's important to =
measure how your users are engaging through Facebook Login.

Be sure your business intelligence solutions can track users who connect =
with Facebook to track their retention, monetization and virals. Other =
options that will help with analysis are leveraging Facebook Insights, =
including looking at the User Overview break down of demographic, language =
and regional information for your Facebook users.

Mobile app install ads, when paired with the Facebook SDK for iOS or the =
Facebook SDK for Android, also provide meaningful data to help you =
understand the reach of your app.

Platform Updates: Operation Developer Love, 24 Januari pukul 9:00
Published by Jeff Bowen

Improved support for age-sensitive content

We=E2=80=99re making it easier for mobile apps and websites that use =
Facebook Login to restrict their content to people age 18+ and 21+. Age =
range has long been available for apps on Facebook.com as part of the =
signed request, but we=E2=80=99re now also making it accessible via the =
Graph API for all users that install your app. Apps that require users' =
birthdays to gate age-sensitive content can increase their install rates =
by using this new age_range field instead. For example, for a user who is =
19 years old, you would get back:

  "age_range": {
    "max": 20,
    "min": 18,
  },

Developer Alerts contact settings

We've updated the Developer Contact Settings to allow you to configure =
your Alerts. You can now select which types of Alerts can send you =
Facebook Notifications and emails.

New ad policy

On Tuesday, January 15th, we implemented a new ad policy that limits text =
overlay to 20% of the image for all ads in News Feed, including mobile app =
install ads. Our goal is to increase the quality of ads in News Feed by =
replacing text with photos and images that are more engaging to users. =
Please see our Ad Guidelines and Help Center for more information.

Upcoming breaking changes

After you've integrated your mobile app with Facebook, it's important =

Be sure your business intelligence solutions can track users who =

We=E2=80=99re making it easier for mobile apps and websites that use =
Facebook Login to restrict their content to people age 18+ and 21+. Age =
range has long been available for apps on Facebook.com as part of the =
signed request, but we=E2=80=99re now also making it <a =
style=3D"color:#3b5998;text-decoration:none;" . =
href=3D"https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/user/" =
>accessible via the Graph API for all users that install your app. =
Apps that require users' birthdays to gate age-sensitive content can =
increase their install rates by using this new
age_range
=
field instead. For example, for a user who is 19 years old, you would get =
back:

<pre class=3D"prettyprint">
  "age_range": {
    "max": 20,
    "min": 18,
  },
